OrgCode - Excellence in Housing Based Case Management
This full day workshop outlines how housing-based case management is distinguished from other case management functions, the theory that supports the approach to overcome myths and structural shortcomings in supports in most communities, the anticipated outcomes for a case manager doing this type of work, and how this approach is aligned to ending homelessness. Participants get considerable practical tools in the training from how to successfully structure home visits, establish objectives for home visits, locate housing, establish crisis plans, undertake risk assessments, create individualized service plans, and create guest policies. Direct service providers, trainers and program managers of homeless and supportive housing programs are encouraged to attend. There will be a lunch break from 12PM-1PM, but lunch is not included. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own sack lunch. This event is offered free to attendees by MDHI and City of Aurora Homeless Programs.
