Shelter Diversion

While Metro Denver has incredible emergency shelters and housing programs, the goal is for fewer and fewer households to enter the homelessness system. Shelter diversion, a relatively new approach that is still being evaluated for its effectiveness, attempts to prevent people from entering homelessness through timely financial assistance, mediation with family/friends/landlords, and other problem-solving assistance.
