Our VISTA Team for the 2019-2020 calendar year is currently full.
We will be seeking interested placement site for new VISTA members in early 2020, for capacity building projects within agencies and regional collaboration work. VISTA members are from a wide variety of backgrounds and experiences. We especially encourage those from the local community, recent graduates, those changing careers, people that have retired and are looking to commit for a year of service, and those who have experienced homelessness. This is an unmatched opportunity to gain experience, learn about homelessness programming at a systems level, and make a direct impact in improving the regional homeless crisis response system to better serve our community.

MDHI VISTA project
MDHI leads an AmeriCorps VISTA project, supported by the federal Corporation for National and Community Service, which is focused on building capacity for agencies working to end homelessness, both within specific counties and regionally. The project engages stakeholders, investors, and those in need to build a sustainable system that will prevent and end homelessness in the Denver metropolitan area.
The MDHI VISTA team provided regional capacity building support to over 100 organizations through 2019 through projects with MDHI, OneHome, the annual Point in Time count, and a number of local initiatives. The Team helped MDHI raise over $30,000 worth of in-kind and financial donations for the 2019 Point in Time to provide resources to those taking the survey. VISTA members also provide invaluable daily support to their host agencies and the local community through their dedication and commitment to service.
