We would like to congratulate our partners at Community Solutions for being selected as a finalist for the MacArthur Foundation's 100&Change Award. Their proposal to accelerate the impact of the Built for Zero movement is now one of six finalists, out of more than 750 applications submitted, in a global competition to solve any single, critical problem of our time. The winner will receive a single grant of $100 million, distributed over up to six years.
If the Built for Zero proposal is selected as the winner, the funds will be used to strengthen their work with CoCs across the nation including MDHI. Some of the key planks in their proposal include:
Strengthening training, coaching, and data support to our teams
Supporting targeted real estate investments to help expand housing supply in our communities
Regranting a portion of the award funds to each Built for Zero community to support our local work to get to zero
Building resources and support responsive to the emerging needs and challenges in getting to zero in our community
The winner of the 100&Change Award will be announced in the spring of 2021, and between now and then, MacArthur will work with our Community Solutions to further develop and strengthen the Built for Zero proposal. Read more from Community Solutions and The MacArthur Foundation here:
