My Departure from MDHI
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am writing to let you know that I am leaving my position as Executive Director at MDHI. My last day will be Thursday, November 29, 2018. Next week, a new search committee will begin looking for new, bold leadership to advance MDHI’s mission and vision.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to lead this organization and for embracing me as a newcomer to this vibrant and dynamic community. I felt the love immediately and hope you know how much I have benefitted from your presence, leadership, and commitment to ending homelessness. I will miss partnering with you in this incredibly important work, but I know, like you do, how much talent there is on the MDHI team and board to continue to move this organization and work forward.
My personal and professional goal has always been clear to me: to be useful to people who stand with their backs against the wall. MDHI’s mission, vision, and values have helped me meet this goal, and the MDHI team and its partners made this job the best job I have ever had. While this is an exciting time for me, leaving MDHI is not a decision that was made lightly.
My new role will be leading a residential community that supports people who are experiencing extreme emotional distress and psychiatric diagnoses. This community of around thirty folks is located on a thirty-acre farm outside of Nashville, TN.
Thanks again for all you have done for me, the organization, and for people experiencing homelessness in the region.
