Having a reliable source of income enables people to find housing and access supportive services that lead to greater, long-term self-sufficiency and recovery. In 2016, nationally, SOAR has an approval rate for initial SSI/SSDI applications of 67 percent in an average of 101 days. The SOAR Implementation Meeting will be facilitated by staff from the SOAR TA Center at Policy Research Associates, Inc. (PRA). The meeting will enable local teams to develop an action plan for training staff, completing SSI/SSDI applications, building collaborations with SSA, DDS, medical providers and others, tracking outcomes, identifying new funding opportunities, and establishing a local leadership team. Prior to the meeting we encourage all participants to complete the community SWOT analysis to help the team better understand the barriers, opportunities, and challenges facing your community. We will also hold a 90-minute webinar to be scheduled prior to this meeting. The webinar will provide an overview of SOAR, the SOAR Online Course, and prepare participants for the action planning that will occur during the meeting. While the webinar will be recorded it is imperative that all who plan to attend the SOAR Implementation Meeting also attend the webinar. We look forward to seeing you on Wednesday, September 6th! Participation in this meeting is by invitation only. Please respond to this RSVP no later than Tuesday, September 5th. Should you wish to designate someone to attend in your place or if you have any questions please contact Diane Howald, firstname.lastname@example.org.
