In 2017, MDHI engaged Focus Strategies, Inc, to begin gathering and analyzing HMIS, Housing Inventory County (HIC), Point in Time counts, and program budget data using their SWAP suite of tools. The tools produce an analysis of HMIS data quality and project level performance based on HUD and HEARTH-aligned metrics. The four primary intervention types were be analyzed - emergency shelter, transitional housing, rapid rehousing, and permanent supportive housing - to get a much better sense of the effectiveness of the existing homelessness system in Metro Denver.
