Thank you for your support during PIT 2019
Everyone Counts in Metro Denver - and partners across the region reached out to our neighbors experiencing homelessness on the evening of January 28th throughout the next day, to survey everyone possible, and provide a thank you need or comfort item in return.
Thank you to the hundreds of volunteers, agencies, local and county governments, and donors for supporting a successful Point in Time count. It was the coldest PIT night since 2014, and we are grateful to everyone who came to survey. We appreciate all the agency staff who provided needed expertise, and hi-fives to those who filled in last minute cancellations. Several of our communities put in extra effort to build and support local PIT committees, plan magnet events, map outreach plans, and brainstorm innovative ideas – Way to lead the charge!
Additional heaps of thanks to some of our donors: Sock it to Em Campaign and Bombas socks for providing enough socks for every person experiencing homelessness in our region, to Mile High United Way and Home-Aid Colorado for their awesome care kits; to Floyd’s barbershop for providing boxes of individual and full size haircare products; to ARC thrift stores for providing a very generous donation of shopping vouchers, to The Sheraton Downtown Denver for providing towels to all our magnet events with showers, and many day shelters as well; to the Gourmet Kitchen for providing a full catered meal and to go plates for all at two Magnet events in Adams County, and to all the individual donors that made it possible for us to buy bus tickets and hand warmers for Monday night’s outreach!
Last! We’d love to hear any feedback you have! If you participated or served as a site Point of Contact, please provide any thoughts on all things PIT: what went really well and we should do again, what didn’t work out so great, ideas for improvements, or questions – Please email Diane Howald, regional PIT coordinator, at PIT@mdhi.org.
