MDHI Governance Charter posted for public comment
In advance of the June 13, 2018 MDHI Stakeholder Meeting, we are posting a revised copy of the MDHI Governance Charter for public comment. A Continuum of Care (CoC) Governance Charter is the document that formally documents how responsibilities are assigned within the CoC. It outlines how the CoC is operated, what membership means how decisions are made.
Community Listening Sessions On data
We want to hear from you! MDHI is facilitating a series of community listening sessions on data during the month of June across the region. These conversations will help MDHI learn from providers, persons with lived experience, and community leaders on the role of data in their everyday interaction with homeless systems. These sessions will take place in June 2018 across the Metro Denver region, and will help inform MDHI as to the needs, wants, concerns and strategy for the next steps of developing our regional data systems.
OneHome May Updates
Including: Program manager position opening; Documents now available in Spanish; ESG integrations, VI-SPDAT in-person trainings. Read more on the OneHome blog
MDHI's Youth Action Board
The Continuum of Care's newest committee is seeking new members to develop and participate in this youth-led group to learn about and inform CoC and OneHome activities, and be a key decision maker if (when!) our CoC is chosen for the Youth Homelessness Demonstration Program opportunity.
Our current members have recognized the need for more participants from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences for the YAB. New members should be 24 years of age or younger and have past or current experiences with homelessness and/or systems involvement.
Next meeting is Wednesday, May 23rd, Email Diane and Megan for more info (Diane.email@example.com; MMorales@voacolorado.org)
CoC NOFA - Open Office Hours
In preparation for the FY2018 Continuum of Care Notice Of Funding Availability (NOFA) competition, MDHI has scheduled NOFA office hours for dates in May and June. These office hours will provide a forum to learn more about the process for the upcoming CoC NOFA competition, ask questions, and provide feedback to MDHI.
NOFA office hours are meant for both current grantees and new applicants. In fact, we strongly encourage organizations who have not applied or who have not been funded through the CoC NOFA in previous years to attend and learn more about how to prepare a successful submission. The Administration for Children and Families, Administration on Children, Youth and Families' Family and Youth Services Bureau (FYSB) announces the availability of funds under the Basic Center Program (BCP). The BCP works to establish or strengthen community-based programs that meet the immediate needs of runaway and homeless youth up to age 18 years of age and their families. BCPs provide youth with emergency shelter, food, clothing, counseling and referrals for health care. Read this and other ACYF funding announcements here.
