FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Selected service providers, network coordination, and regional governance partners are joining forces to bring targeted, flexible financial assistance and human-centered support to households at risk of homelessness across the City and County of Denver and Adams County.
DENVER, Colo. (October 30, 2026) –
The Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI), in close partnership with the City and County of Denver and Adams County, today announced the network of local implementation partners selected to drive the Right at Home Initiative, a landmark national pilot designed to stop homelessness before it starts.
Following a rigorous and competitive evaluation process led by a regional selection committee composed of core leadership across Metro Denver and Adams County, implementation partners were selected based on their robust organizational infrastructure, established capacity, and demonstrated commitment to human-centered prevention.
While choosing among many exceptional applicants was difficult, the selected partners stood out for having the foundational systems and trusted community relationships needed to deliver rapid, effective support right out of the gate. The committee remains deeply grateful to every organization that applied and looks forward to keeping the broader community of applicants engaged as regional prevention efforts grow.
The operational partners powering the Denver-Adams pilot include:
System Lead: Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI), serving as the designated backbone organization providing overall implementation oversight, contract management, and strategic alignment.
Network Coordinator: Brothers Redevelopment, responsible for managing system flow, promoting service consistency across providers, facilitating peer learning, and supporting continuous improvement.
Service Delivery Partners, which will work directly with participating households to deliver financial assistance and supportive services:

Volunteers of America Colorado (VOA), www.voacolorado.org

"Selecting our implementation partners was a rigorous and highly competitive process, and it speaks to the dedication to this effort in our community. Having our service and coordination partners in place marks an incredible milestone for the Right at Home pilot in Denver and Adams,” said Jason Johnson, Executive Director at Metro Denver Homeless Initiative (MDHI). “We are thrilled to partner with Brothers Redevelopment, Jewish Family Services of Colorado, and Volunteers of America Colorado to bring this initiative to life in our region and keep families stably housed."
"Brothers Redevelopment is honored to serve both as the network coordinator and service partner for Right At Home," said Jeff Martinez, Brothers Redevelopment President. "Our team is eager to center the needs of our neighbors by offering resources and guidance that can help them find financial stability and stave housing insecurity. "
Right at Home Initiative: A Proven, Upstream Model
The Right at Home initiative builds on a successful upstream prevention framework spearheaded by Destination: Home in Santa Clara County, California, where more than 90% of high-risk households receiving help remained stably housed two years later. A multi-year randomized controlled trial by the Wilson Sheehan Lab for Economic Opportunities (LEO) at the University of Notre Dame demonstrated that every $1 invested in the model returned $2.47 in community benefits.
The Denver-Adams County pilot relies on direct, human-centered case management, with all initial screenings and assessments conducted by qualified case managers. To ensure fair and equitable resource allocation while building rigorous evidence for permanent federal funding, MDHI is partnering with the University of Notre Dame's LEO Lab on a randomized controlled trial (RCT).
“The strength of the Right at Home initiative comes from our local partners, who are already doing tremendous work in their communities,” said Jen Loving, Chief Executive Officer at Destination: Home. “We’re excited to see the Denver-Adams County team making great progress and look forward to welcoming these outstanding providers to our Right at Home team as we move one step closer to serving those who need it most and stopping homelessness before it starts.”
Goals and Expected Outcomes
Over the next three-year implementation period, the Denver-Adams County Right at Home initiative aims to achieve significant regional impact, including:
Enrolling at least 1,000 households in targeted homelessness prevention services.
Ensuring 75% of enrolled households receive financial assistance within three working days of submitting required documentation.
Maintaining housing stability for at least 85% of participating households during the period of assistance, at 12 months post-assistance, and at 24 months post-assistance.
The initiative also incorporates guidance from a dedicated Lived Experience Committee, ensuring that individuals with lived expertise actively help shape program accessibility, service delivery, and ongoing system improvements.
“Congratulations to Brothers Redevelopment, Jewish Family Services of Colorado, and Volunteers of America Colorado on being selected as partners for the Right at Home initiative. This was a highly competitive process, and we’re confident these organizations bring the experience, strong regional relationships, and ability to respond quickly that will make this effort successful,” said Commissioner Julie Duran Mullica, Chair of the Adams County Board of Commissioners. “We’re excited to move forward with MDHI, the City and County of Denver, our selected partners, and the broader network of community organizations working together to strengthen housing stability across our region.”
Funding for Right at Home is supported by private philanthropic investments distributed nationally through Destination: Home, including contributions from The Audacious Project, Cisco, Sobrato Philanthropies, and the Valhalla Foundation.
